Courtney Thorne Smith Bio
American actress Courtney Thorne Smith (born November 8, 1967). She is best known for her roles in Melrose Place as Alison Parker on Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas on Ally McBeal, Cheryl in According to Jim as well as her recurring role on Two and a Half Men as Lyndsey McElroy. Thorne Smith was born in San Francisco and raised in Menlo Park (a suburb to San Francisco). Walter Smith was her father. Lora Thorne was her mother and therapy therapist. Courtney was seven when her parents divorced. Courtney lived with both parents at different times. Jennifer is her older sister is an executive in the field of advertising. She attended Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, California and graduated Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley in 1985. While in high school, she also participated in the Ensemble Theater Company in Mill Valley. Thorne Smith was a part of her first film role in 1986's Lucas alongside Winona Ryder and Corey Haim. In the late 1980s she also appeared in a variety of films which included Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II (Nerds in Paradise) (1987), Summer School (1987) and Side Out(90). In 1998 she starred in the box office failure Chairman of the Board with Carrot Top. Thorne-Smith was in Sorority Wars in 2009. Thorne Smith dated Andrew Shue in the 1990s. He was her screen love from Melrose Place. In June 2000, she got married to geneticist Andrew Conrad; the couple divorced in January 2001. Roger Fishman (president of Zizo Group, marketing company) and the author of What I Know was her wedding date. Aged 40 she had her first child on January 11, 2008, to Jacob Emerson Fishman.
